  • How do I get started?
Please reach out for a free consultation call to discuss your goals, my treatment approach, and to see if we’re a good fit.
  • Are sessions held virtually or in-person?
I offer sessions virtually for patients located anywhere in New York State and in-person sessions in Mamaroneck, NY.
  • What should I expect during my initial session?
I start treatment by conducting a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation. For child and adolescent patients, I will meet with both the child and parents in separate evaluations. The evaluation consists of a diagnostic interview, and I often gather self-report questionnaires and consult with school personnel and other treatment providers. After completing the evaluation, I share my initial diagnostic impressions and a proposed treatment plan.
  • Once I complete the evaluation, how often do we meet and how long are the sessions?
Sessions are 45-minutes long, and typically take place once per week. If you are looking for faster relief or if your or your child’s symptoms are more severe, intensive treatment (meeting more than once per week) may be helpful as well.
  • Do you accept insurance?
I am considered an Out-of-Network provider, which means that I can provide you with superbills for you to submit to your insurance provider if you have Out-of-Network benefits. Many people who have Out-of-Network benefits can receive significant reimbursement for sessions.
  • How can I find out if I have Out-Of-Network benefits?
I encourage you to reach out to your insurance company about the following questions: What are my out-of-network benefits for outpatient psychotherapy with a psychologist? What is the annual deductible? How much is remaining for the year? How much am I reimbursed once my deductible is met for the following services/CPT codes: initial evaluation (90791), individual & family psychotherapy (90832, 90834, 90846, 90847). Is there a difference in reimbursement for services provided via telehealth vs. in-person? Are there any psychotherapy services excluded from reimbursement when conducted via telehealth? Do they require modifier codes or changes to the place of service on the superbill if conducted via telehealth?
